Little-known Abugu Izuchukwu Michael is best known for his pace, artistic tackles, elegance on the ball, distribution and tight marking of opponents.

The Makurdi-born right-foot centre-back from Enugu, South-East Nigeria started his career with Lobi Stars Of Makurdi in 2014 and then moved to Jigawa Golden Stars where he played for two seasons (2015-2017).

Ibom Youth of Akwa Ibom then snapped him up in 2019-2021, before joining MFM FC of Lagos In the 2021/2022 season.

Abugu, a dark complexion centre-back is a technically accomplished defender.

The 21-year-old can surge powerfully down the flank to create goal-scoring opportunities, he is also powerful and uncompromising with his tackles.

With a body weight of 75kg and height of 8.1, Abugu has a good physical presence in the heart of the backline, and he's difficult to be overpowered by fearsome forwards.

These are the qualities of the former MFM FC of Lagos defender, who made the most of his time with the Olukoya Boys in the Nigerian Professional Football League.
