France has been officially confirmed as the host nation for the 2031 FIBA Basketball World Cup following a decision by the FIBA Central Board, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The tournament will be staged across three major cities Lille, Lyon, and Paris with the competition set to take place from August 29 to September 14, 2031.
Paris will host the final phase of the tournament, including the semifinals and the championship game, where the next world champion will be decided.
France’s selection underscores its strong track record in organizing major international sporting events, supported by modern infrastructure and a deep-rooted basketball tradition.
