France Sports Minister Meets Moffi, Boga After Attack Incident

France’s Minister of Sports, Marina Ferrari, has met with Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi and his teammate Jérémie Boga, following the violent incident involving OGC Nice players on Sunday night, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ferrari, who earlier released a strongly-worded statement condemning the attack, reiterated her stance on Tuesday midday, describing the violence directed at the club’s players and management as “unacceptable.”

Moffi, Boga, and several other Nice players were confronted by hundreds of angry supporters at the club’s training centre after returning from Lorient, where they suffered their sixth straight defeat with a 1–3 loss.

“I want to express my full support for them. Nothing can justify these acts which target those who dedicate themselves to football every day,” Ferrari said. “These serious incidents, caused by a few individuals, have nothing to do with being a fan.”

Later on Tuesday evening, the Sports Minister held a direct discussion with Moffi and Boga, assuring them of her support and the government’s commitment to preventing a repeat of such incidents.
