French Ligue 1: Lille’s Bakker Backs Akpom To Shine

Despite limited playing time, LOSC Lille defender Mitchel Bakker has expressed his confidence in Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom’s ability to make an impact, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Akpom joined the former Ligue 1 champions last summer from Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam but has struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup.

“He’s a great guy, always smiling, and brings a positive vibe to the dressing room,” Bakker said in an interview with the club’s official website.

“He trains hard and, even though he’s not playing much right now, he’s giving everything to prove himself. I’m confident he’ll score some important goals for us.”
