Nigeria's Super Eagles and OGC Nice forward Terem Moffi has opened up on his failed move to the French Ligue One giant Olympique Marseille, BSNSports.com.ng report.
After a successful outing in the first stanza of the league, top European clubs approached FC Lorient for his services but the Nigerian chose to join Nice in the end.
Lorient initially agreed with Marseille for his signature but they insisted on Nice move.
During a press conference, Moffi made it clear that he never had an agreement with the capital club.
“We have never been close to an agreement with OM. In my mind, I only thought of Nice. So we have never been close to an agreement.
“It was the end of the transfer window, it took longer than expected. It was stressful but we can't control that.
It was a relief that the situation finally unblocked. I could focus on what I love again, playing football. It took three weeks to finalize the transfer ", he said.
Moffi is expected to be in action this weekend when Nice faces champions Paris St Germain on Matchday 30 of the league.
