French Ligue Two: Maja Fires Hat-Trick In Bordeaux Win

Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Josh Maja was the cynosure of all eyes in the French Ligue 2 game involving his team Girondin Bordeaux and Paris FC, BSNsports.com.ng has gathered.

Bordeaux was relegation from Ligue one at the end of last season following a poor performance from the team coupled with financial issues.

Maja was supposed to join English Championship side Birmingham City on Monday but the deal collapsed after the striker decided to stay with the team.

He underlined his importance to the team on Saturday afternoon scoring a hat trick in their away win against Paris FC.

He opened the scoring in the 15th minute and doubled his team lead five minutes later from the penalty spot.

In the second half, the Nigeria international completed his hat trick in the 52nd minute from the spot.

Guilavogui reduced the deficit for the host in the 79th minute before Maja was replaced in the 83rd minute by Lacouix but Bordeaux did enough to seal maximum points.
