GFA Appoints Hughton As New Black Star Coach

The Ghana Football Association has appointed Chris Hughton as the new head coach of the Black Stars, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former Brighton coach took over from Otto Addo who led the team to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The official statement was made late on Sunday evening and is expected to be in charge of the team when the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers resume in March.

" The Ghana Football Association has the pleasure to appoint Chris Hughton as Head Coach of the Black Stars following extensive deliberations between the two parties.

“The appointment is in line with the vision of the GFA to continue with the project of building a formidable squad that started with Otto Addo in the lead-up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament", the FA confirmed.
