Galatasaray Issues Injury Update On Victor Osimhen

Turkish Super Lig champions, Galatasaray, have announced an official update regarding the injury status of Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Osimhen picked up a hamstring injury during Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff final against the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday night.

Upon his return to Turkey, the striker underwent a medical examination, including an MRI scan.

According to a statement released on the club’s official website on Wednesday, results revealed a moderate level muscle strain accompanied by bleeding in the left posterior region.

“In the MRI examination performed today at our sponsor hospital Acıbadem, our football player Victor Osimhen was found to have a moderate level of strain and bleeding in his left posterior muscle, and treatment has commenced,” the club confirmed.

Following the diagnosis, Osimhen has begun treatment and is expected to be sidelined for Galatasaray’s upcoming league clash against Gençlerbirliği on Saturday.
