Galatasaray have shown their commitment to star forward Victor Osimhen by dispatching a private jet to Nigeria following his injury in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Super Eagles striker was forced off during the game at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday after sustaining a shin injury.
Initial medical checks by the Nigerian team doctors confirmed the knock, raising concerns about his availability for upcoming fixtures.
In a swift move, Galatasaray arranged a private plane to fly Osimhen directly from Nigeria to Istanbul.
He is scheduled to arrive in Turkey today, where he will undergo a comprehensive medical assessment to determine the extent of the injury and the recovery timeline.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray in a high-profile summer move, has been central to the club’s ambitions in both domestic and continental competitions.
His injury scare has therefore caused significant concern among fans and officials of the Turkish champions.
Club sources revealed that the decision to send a private plane was to ensure the striker receives the best possible care and travels under minimal stress, avoiding commercial flight inconveniences.
The results of the medical tests in Istanbul are expected to determine whether Osimhen will be sidelined for a short period or face a longer spell out of action.
For now, both Super Eagles supporters and Galatasaray fans will be waiting anxiously for updates on the fitness of their star man.
