Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray have decided to rest Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen for their upcoming domestic Cup fixture during the week, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Osimhen has been instrumental for the Red and Yellow in recent matches, finding the back of the net in games against Juventus and Alanyaspor. 

His impressive form has boosted the Turkish champions as they continue their push on multiple fronts this season.

However, the club’s technical crew has opted to give the Nigerian striker a breather ahead of a busy run of fixtures. 

He will sit out the Cup clash against Alanyaspor as part of a squad rotation strategy aimed at maintaining fitness levels.

Osimhen will not be the only notable absentee, as Davinson Sanchez, Mario Lemina, and Mauro Icardi are also expected to miss the encounter. 

The decision underscores the club’s intent to carefully manage key players while competing in domestic and continental competitions.
