Game On Afrika Tournament Will Foster Stronger Cultural Ties Between Nigeria and Ghana, Says Organizers

Organizers of the Game On Afrika Tournament has said that the initiative is designed to foster stronger cultural ties between Nigeria and its neighbours, Ghana, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

They made the disclosure when the founder of Game On Afrika Limited, Prince Nnaemaeka Lawrence Nwankwo, alongside the Project Manager, Jenny Anusiem, on Tuesday paid a familiarization visit to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Football Association in Abuja ahead of the tournament.

They noted that the competition, which is designed to connect cultures and nurture future football champions, will hold simultaneously in Nigeria and Ghana, kicking off on October 4, 2025.

In Nigeria, matches will be hosted across four states: Imo, Enugu, Lagos, and the FCT, while in Ghana, the competition will take place in the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central, and Oti regions.

The organizers announced that registration is open strictly for U-19 teams via the official website, www.gameonafrika.com, and will close on September 30, 2025.

During the visit, the FCT FA chairman, Alhaji Abba Mouktar Mohammed, was represented by the Secretary, Coach Haruna Usman Ilerika, and board member, Oluwafemi Ajilore, who also doubles as the tournament’s Abuja coordinator.

According to the organizers, the event is expected to promote youth football development and foster stronger cultural ties between Nigeria and Ghana.

With youth teams across both nations set to compete, the Game On Afrika Tournament is positioning itself as one of the biggest grassroots football initiatives in West Africa.
