With the transfer of Super Eagles Cyriel Dessers to newly-promoted Italian Serie A side US Cremonese looking set to be finalized in the coming days; Genk have penciled down another Nigerian prodigy Victory Beniangba as his potential replacement, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Dessers, 27, who is in Italy to seal a deal that will keep him with US Cremonese title 2027 is worth 6.5million euros plus bonuses.

Having scored three goals and provide an assistant for Genk, the Nigerian played his last game at the Cegeka Arena in the win against Eupen on Saturday.

Reports on both Het Laatste Nieuws and  Het Nieuwsblad indicate that with Wouter Vrancken still counting on Super Eagles and last season's Golden Shoe winner Paul Onuachu and Hungarian U23 international Andras Nemeth, Head of Football Dimitri de Condé will probably bet on young international talent.

At the top of the wish list is 19-year-old former Bayelsa United striker Victory Beniangba; a product of the Young Boys Football Academy, who spent the past six months on loan with Egyptian El Gaish, where he scored 7 times in 21 matches for El Gaish.

Both newswire sources did not state when Genk will be making a move for Beniangba who recently joined the Spanish La Liga side, Celta Vigo.

Beniangba (1.93 meters tall), started his professional career with former NPFL champion Bayelsa United, with whom he participated in the CAF Confederation Cup last season.

Despite not going past the playoff stage, Victory was able to make his mark after scoring a historic winner against Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the first leg of the second qualifying round.
