George Happy With Enyimba's 1st Half Performance Against El-Kanemi Warriors
Alfred Kadiri
Finidi George has explained how important it was for Enyimba to wrap up their Matchday 6 fixture win against El- Kanemi Warriors in the first half, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
After losing their Matchday 5 game to Remo Stars in Ikenne, the need to get back to winning became inevitable.
Emeka Obioma grabbed his second brace in as many home games as the Aba Millionaires shot two past the visiting Warriors from Borno at the Enyimba Stadium on Sunday evening.
Obioma took his season’s tally to four as the People’s Elephant sealed off the game with an emphatic first-half performance.
"The performance is always good as in the NPFL if you don't score in the first half, you start seeing negative football from the visiting team, like delay tactics and other things to help them earn a point," the Super Eagles assistant coach said.
"But when you get the goal, then you have helped them to play better as they won't park the bus, rather come out to attack.
"We should have scored more goals against El-Kanemi Warriors but my players were naive at goal with the other half chances they created.
" At the end of the day, am happy with the 3 points.
Enyimba are closing in on Bendel Insurance and Remo Stars on the log with 10 points as against 16 and 12 points garnered by the Group A leaders.
