While the Nigerian clubsides in CAF inter clubs competitions are left alone without financial support, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced $30,000 support for Premier League Champions Medeama SC and $20,000 for Women's League Champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, BSNsports.com.mg reports.

“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is urging Medeama SC to go all the way in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.

“The Association is also delighted to support the club with an amount of $30,000 to cushion the club in their African campaign,” parts of a communique from the GFA said on Saturday.

It added, “The support from the GFA is to help alleviate some of the huge expenditure associated with the CAF Champions League, especially travel costs.”

In the CAF Champions League, Medeama SC pipped Nigeria representative, Remo Stars 1-0 in the first leg of the preliminary round in Ghana on Sunday.

In the same vein, the Federation announced a substantial financial backing of $20,000 to bolster the campaign of Women’s Premier League side Ampem Darkoa Ladies in their pursuit of glory at the Women’s WAFU B Qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League.

As Ampem Darkoa Ladies gear up for the third edition of the WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifiers, the GFA’s monetary backing will go a long way to propel the lady’s aim for glory.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies defeated Amis Du Monde of Togo 4-2 in their CAF Women's Champions League opener at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Sunday.

The GFA’s generous support encompasses pivotal areas, including air tickets, essential for the team’s journey to Benin City.

However, the GFA’s involvement goes beyond financial assistance. Recognizing the significance of holistic preparation, the Association also extended their helping hand to ensure the team’s optimal condition.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies have been afforded the luxury of free accommodation and nourishing meals at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram. This intensive 15-day training camp signifies the GFA’s holistic approach to empowering women’s football, encapsulating both financial support and strategic preparation.
