Ghana Match-Fixing Scandal: LMC Disqualifies Remo Stars Duo From The League

The match-fixing scandal rocking Ghanaian football continues to spread across the continent and Nigeria Professional Football League is not left out, BSNsports.com.ng gathered.


The hammer of the World soccer ruling body and Ghana Football Association in the week fell on two clubs Ashanti Gold and Inter Allies some players that took part in the game were also sanctioned.


The duo of Remo Stars players Issa Ali and Andy Okpe were involved in the scandal and it is Ali who was initially invited to the Super Eagles team for the upcoming friendly games that was dropped earlier in the week.


According to a report coming from the League Management Company (LMC) on Friday afternoon both Ali and Okpe as been disqualified with immediate effect.


"Remo Stars duo of Isah Ali & Andy Okpe have been disqualified with immediate effect from featuring in the NPFL following the cancellation of their registration.


The cancellation of both players' registration comes on the back of the review of their documents which failed to provide critical details about their status," LMC said
