Ghana President Orders Investigation Into 13th African Games

President John Mahama has ordered an immediate forensic investigation into the organization of the 13th African Games hosted by Ghana, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The directive follows the submission of a comprehensive report by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), which raised concerns over alleged irregularities in contract awards, procurement processes, and infrastructure development related to the Games.

According to sources within the presidency, the President has instructed the Auditor-General to commence a full-scale audit covering all financial and operational aspects of the event.

President Mahama emphasized transparency and accountability, insisting that those found culpable must face appropriate sanctions.

The Auditor-General is expected to submit a detailed report to the Presidency by the second week of December 2025.

The 13th African Games, held earlier this year in Accra, was Ghana’s first time hosting the continental multi-sport event. Despite widespread praise for the successful execution, questions have persisted regarding the management of funds and project contracts.
