Ghana's Herbert Mensah elected Rugby Africa president

Ghana's Herbert Mensah was elected as president of Rugby Africa, governing body of the game on the continent, during the body's annual general meeting in South Africa on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Herbert Mensah, President of Ghana Rugby, was nominated by Nigeria Rugby president, Dr Ademola Are and seconded by Botswana Rugby with the massive support of French and English West Africa, Southern, central and northern Africa, in recognition of his massive transformation of the game in Ghana.

Mensah polled 30 out of the 32 votes cast to secure the position. Congratulatory messages from Ghanaian rugby fans poured in after Mensah declared the win.

In congratulatory tweets by the Rugby Africa and Uganda Rugby Union congratulating Mensah for emerging as the winner in the 2023 elections of the continental governing body.
