Golden Eaglets Through To Semi-final of 2022 WAFU U-17 Cup

Nigeria’s U-17 male team, the Golden Eaglets on Tuesday booked their passage into the semi-final of the ongoing 2022 WAFU U-17 tournament in Ghana, BSNSports.com.ng can report.


The Nduka Ugbade led boys qualified for the semi-final after beating the hosts, Ghana (4-2) and also defeated Togo by 3-1 in the last Group A match played on Tuesday evening. 


Kewe iyede, Precious William, and Light Eke scored the three goals for Nigeria.


Nigeria recorded maximum six points in two matches in a group that has three West African countries; Togo, Ghana and Nigeria.


The battle for the semi-final tickets in Group B matches continue on Wednesday as Niger Republic face Côte d'Ivoire at 5pm while Benin Republic lock horns with Burkina Faso at 7pm in their group second matches.


Meanwhile, winners between Ghana and Togo in last Group A game on Friday will join Nigeria in semi-final of the tournament.


The two finalists in tourney book a place in the final and a spot at the CAF U17 Nations Cup in Algeria in March, 2023.
