Gov. Diri Showers Millions On Victorious Bayelsa Queens

Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri has rewarded the 26 players of Bayelsa Queens Football Team with the sum of Four Million Naira each for winning the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

At the 167th Exco meeting on Wednesday, the Governor also rewarded other players who were registered with the team but did not play with a sum of One Million Naira each.

Four million Naira also went to the head coach, chairman of the board received Three Million Naira while assistant coaches took home Two Million Naira each, back room staff got one and a half million Naira each, as board members got One Million Naira each and the supporters club received Three Million Naira.

His words: “Your Prosperity government is happy with you and has decided to reward you for your outstanding performance winning the NWFL Premiership title.

“As you’re going for the WAFU Zone B, you should know that you’re not only representing Bayelsa State, but Nigeria, and you all know the President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a sports-loving president, so I urge you to come back home with the trophy. ”

Governor Diri, who also instructed an upward review of the salary of the state-owned male and female football teams, received the giant trophy from the team.

Governor Diri appreciated the partners and sponsors of the team, Premium Trust Bank, while calling on other corporate bodies to up their corporate social responsibility.
