By Gbenga Gboyega

The incumbent governor of Lagos State - H. E. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu received some members of the Super Falcons at the Lagos House located in Marina yesterday evening (Wednesday), bsnsports.com.ng writes.

The visit by Falcons' trio Asisat Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade, and Gift Monday, joins the array of hosting by Nigerian dignitaries of Super Falcons players after their return from the FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

A couple of days ago, the Osun State Governor - H. E. Ademola Adeleke, hosted Super Falcons duo of Rasheedat Ajibade and Rofiat Imuran in his hometown in Ede, after Nigeria's First Lady - Sen. Oluremi Tinubu had the team's captain Onome Ebi, Christy Ucheibe, and Tochukwu Oluehi in Abuja.

"Honored to have received some team members of our remarkable Super Falcons at the Lagos House in Marina earlier today," Governor Sanwo-Olu posted on his official page.

"Asisat Oshoala who came in the company of Rasheedat Ajibade and Monday Gift, came to pay us a courtesy visit," he continued...

His Excellency also lauded the Ladies on their performance at the World Cup despite the mixed feelings surrounding their exit in the Round of 16 against England, who will face Spain in the final after defeating co-host Australia in today's semifinal clash.

"The Super Falcons’ incredible run at the FIFA Women's World Cup has ignited a new era of enthusiasm for women's football in Nigeria.

"Their achievements on the field and the unity they brought to our nation are truly remarkable.

"We will continue to empower and encourage our female athletes and also work towards a brighter future for women's football in Nigeria.

"A big thank you to these amazing ladies for their visit, and for the gifts of the club's jerseys," the Governor concluded.

Hopefully, the series of hosting of the Super Falcons players by dignitaries and government officials relatively translate to progression in Nigerian Women's football holistically.
