Guinea Bissau Go Top Of Nigeria In 2023 AFCON Qualifiers Group A Table

Guinea Bissau sent a strong warning to other member of Group A including Nigeria's Super Eagles after their emphatic 5-1 thrashing of Sao Tome and Principle, BSNsports.com.ng reports.


The game which was played in a high tempo in Marrakech witnessed a load of goals, especially from the home side.


It was Sao Tome that opened the scoring in the 21st minute of the game through Viegas before Semendo equalized just before the half time.


Guinea Bissau came out strongly in the second half and their efforts paid off with a brace from Gano in the 50th and 58th minutes of the game. 


Benjagui and Jorginho completed the rout in the 80th and 87th minutes and secured full points for the host with a 5-1 comprehensive win.


The result catapulted Guinea Bissau to the top of Group A table with a four goals difference despite Super Eagles' 2-1 win over Sierra Leone.
