As the continent countdown to the start of the 2023 African Cup of Nations, Guinea Bissau has sent a warning signal to Nigeria's Super Eagles ahead of the tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
After playing out a 1-1 draw against Burkina Faso on Matchday one of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier, Guinea Bissau on Monday evening defeated Djibouti by a lone goal.
Mauro Rodriguez netted the only goal of the game in the 39th minute to move the country to 4 points behind Egypt.
Nigeria's Super Eagles on their part failed to record a win in their two matches played so far in the World Cup qualifier.
Both countries are paired in the same group for the 2023 AFCON alongside Equatorial Guinea and the host Ivory Coast.
The competition is slated to take place from January 13th to February 11th, 2024.
