President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON), has officially assumed office as President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The formal handover ceremony was held on Monday at the WAFU headquarters located in the Cocody Riviera 4 district of Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Gusau takes over the leadership of the regional football body following the elevation of his predecessor, Mr. Kurt-Edwin Simeon Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee.
Okraku was elected during the CAF Congress held in Egypt on March 12, 2025, and has since been appointed CAF's Second Vice President.
With this new role, Gusau is expected to lead efforts to strengthen regional collaboration and development across the seven-nation Zone B, which includes Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Togo, Niger Republic, and Burkina Faso.
