Handball League: Niger United, Rima Strikers Win Big On Day 7
Niger United and Rima Strikers were the biggest winners on Day 8 of the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League season 5 phase 2 in Lagos.
Former champion, Niger United taught Owena Kings some handball lessons with a 43 - 29 victory over the Akure based side while Rima Strikers of Sokoto earned an emphatic 41-18 victory over home side Seasider Boys of Lagos in the Male Category.
Other matches in the category saw defending champion Kano Pillars extend their lead on the league table as they defeated Defender Babes 30-20 while Tojemarine Academy got a comfortable 30-21 over Police Machine.
Safety Shooters earned a 34-24 victory over Confluence Stars to remain on second.
In the female category, former champion Plateau Peacocks comfortably defeated Benue Queens 24-11 while experience was the key as Imo Grasshoppers defeated Rima Queens 30-26
Defender Babes defeated Seasider Babes of Lagos 34-27.
The most valuable players for the day are Aminu Aliyu of Niger United and Adaobi Okoro of Defender Babes for the male and female categories respectively.
