Heartland Pitch Not Good For Football - Osho Laments

Precious Oham

Akwa United Head Coach, Fatai Osho has lamented that the bad turf at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri is not good for football, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Osho stated this in his post-match reactions after his team lost by a goal to nothing to Heartland in a MatchDay 14 of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

While calling on the league organisers to look into the issue, Osho noted that both teams couldn't put in their very best due to the bad state of the turf.

He revealed that his team will go into the transfer window to sign players that would help the team in getting the goals, which he described as the bane for his side this season.

"Heartland should do well to leave this ground. It's not helping their football and not helping everybody coming here. This is not good for Nigerian players. They need to leave this place. The organizers seriously need to look into this issue because it is not even good for hockey. It's a no-no honestly.

"You can't judge both teams on this surface. You need to see when we played Lobi Stars, we played better but here, you can't do it. Anytime we tried to do that, we conceded a goal. This is not good for football.

"Over time we have not been doing well. We try our utmost best to encourage our players and we are waiting for the January window to make one or two additions so that going forward, we will create a lot of threats.

"We are quite aware and we just have to add some bite to that attack. You are going to see a complete turnaround between now and January."
