It was an interesting scoreline recorded on opening Matchday of the 2023/24 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season, with both Heartland Queens and Edo Queens going top of their respective groups, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The other teams who also secured victory in the Matchday 1 fixtures are Nasarawa Amazons, and Abia Angels with wins over Naija Ratels and Adamawa Queens respectively. 

The following are the Top three standings in Groups A and B after Matchday 1 fixtures.

A total of 22 goals were scored in eight match centers nationwide in the NWFL Matchday 1 encounter, as Ekiti Queens maintained fourth position in Group B with 1 point in their opening match.
