Heartland Sympathizes With El-Kanemi Warriors Over Armed Robbery Incident

Heartland FC Technical Manager, Emmanuel Amuneke says he is saddened by the unfortunate armed robbery incident involving El-Kanemi Warriors players and officials, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Borno Army was heading back home to Maiduguri after honouring their Matchday 14 tie with Ikorodu City and in the wee hours of Saturday, the club's players and officials were laid by armed bandits along Jos/Bauchi road and the exchange led to some players and officials of the club sustaining injuries and their possessions stolen by the armed robbers.

A statement by the club reads: "Amuneke, in a message, prays to God to grant the injured players and officials speedy recovery.

 "The former CAF Player of the Year also appealed to the Federal Government to see to the repair of dilapidated roads and also to beef up security on the roads to cut the excesses of the armed bandits short."
