Heartland Wary Of Lobi Stars Threat-Makalala

Our Reporter

Ahead of Sunday's MatchDay 33 fixtures, Victor Makalala says his Heartland side will be cautious against Lobi Stars in Makurdi.

Makalala, who once played for Lobi Stars had a successful season with club in 2016 and was among the fan favourites.

"It's good to be back to Makurdi, I still have a good memory of the Aper Aku Stadium, remember some of the goals I scored and the fans whom I hold in high esteem.

"Like every other NPFL games we have played so far, this one is going to be tough as it's a fixture between two teams fighting for survival.

"Only point difference separates both teams despite having 37points each, and on 17th and 18th position on the log.

"For me, the heat is on both teams to get a point or maximum 3points from the game. So I expect a soaked tensed encounter.

"We know their threats and the quality they have but Heartland been a side who also have experienced players in its ranks won't leave the Aper Aku Stadium without giving Lobi Stars a good fight for the 3 points.

"Our performance on the road in the last four matches has been encouraging since we picked a point off Wikki Tourists in Bauchi. We almost did against Gombe United were we lost narrowly by 3-2. However, good thing about the squad is, we also score goals away from home.

"Though the game will be tough, it is also going to be difficult for Lobi Stars and Heartland because both teams need a point from the game."
