Daniel Ogunmodede, coach of the home-based Eagles, has voiced the team's disappointment following the unexpected postponement of the 2024 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The tournament was originally scheduled to take place from February 1 to 28, 2024, but Patrice Motsepe, president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), announced on Tuesday that the competition would be rescheduled to August 2024.

"We are disappointed, and it showed in the team's reaction during the match we played on Wednesday," Ogunmodede said.

"Everyone was upset, especially considering the effort we've put in, including the sacrifices during the festive period when we couldn’t even be with our families."

"Nonetheless, we remain focused. We cannot control the postponement—it’s not our fault," he continued in an interview with 54FootballX.

"Our priority now is to continue preparing ourselves. I’ve told the players they must stay consistent and maintain the same mindset because bouncing back won’t be automatic."
