Former Nigerian International Osaze Odemwingie has blamed Libya for what happened to the Super Eagles of Nigeria before day 4 of the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian side refused to play the game on Tuesday after its players were maltreated at the Abraq Airport on Monday.

While speaking to Brila FM, the former Lille of France attacker said the Libyans should have reported to the appropriate authority what happened during the first leg instead of retaliation.

" It's a shame to see things like this happen, it's scary because diverting a plane to another airport is a whole different level".

" I don't know who was clearly behind this, but it went too far".

" If they had complained how they were treated, they could have filed an official complaint; I'm sure Nigeria as a country can get things right and offer them an apology or explain things".

" You don't, without any explanation, jump into extremes; that was extreme", he stated.
