President, Nigeria Eagles Supporters Club, Sunday Gullong has said that a unified supporters club will spur the Super Eagles to pick the 2026 World Cup ticket, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Sunday in an exclusive interview with www.bsnsports.com.ng in his office in Abuja on Thursday expressed optimism that a united supporters club will help the Nigeria senior national team to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

"A unified supporters club will help Super Eagles get better results. If you look at the national team itself, we have only eleven players on the pitch the twelfth players are the supporters club. So, if we are not unified or not United then definitely the team itself will be distracted. If you notice there was a time everybody spreads around with his own band boys and we were confusing them on the pitch and if you noticed, that time they were not performing because we were distracting them on the pitch.

"Again, by the time we are together and there is that unity definitely they will be focused and then we were sending them the message and that unity is what we need and it will really help us to forge ahead.

"If we come together as one, the Super Eagles will start having good results particularly in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. He concluded.

There are five different supporters clubs in Nigeria.
