RB Leipzig are set to receive a significant financial boost following Ademola Lookman’s move from Atalanta to Atlético Madrid, with the German Bundesliga club earning an estimated ₦5.8 billion from the transfer, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The payout stems from a sell-on clause Leipzig negotiated when they sold the Nigerian international to Atalanta in the summer of 2022. At the time, the Serie A side signed Lookman for €9.35 million.

Atalanta have now agreed to sell the forward to Atlético Madrid in a deal reportedly worth €40 million, activating Leipzig’s percentage clause and ensuring the German club benefits substantially from the transfer despite Lookman having left the club two years ago.
