Nigeria-born Chelsea youngster Lesley Ugochukwu has named Super Eagles legend John Mikel Obi and French World Cup winner and Arsenal cult hero, Patrick Vieira as the the two players he admired as a kid, BSNSports.com.ng has gathered.

Ugochukwu, a nephew of former Super Eagles defender Onyekachi Apam, who signed from Rennes, is looking to earn first team game time under coach Mauricio Pochettino.

The 19-year-old hopes he can have the same impact on the sport as his heroes John Mikel Obi and Patrick Vieira.

In an interview with the official Chelsea website, the Frenchman said: "When I was a child, I always dreamed of playing in the best league in the world.

“When I was small, I watched the big teams like Chelsea. So it was a dream. When I heard they wanted me to join, I didn't hesitate.

"I wanted to be part of this team and play in the Premier League. Growing up, watching the Premier League, I liked John Mikel Obi. A midfielder like me.

“Also, some of my coaches liked to tell me I played like Patrick Vieira. So I watched some of his clips and he's a top player."
