I Will Resign If We Dont Make 2023 AFCON Semi-Final - Moroccan Coach

Ahead of the draws for the 2023 African Cup of Nations, head coach of the Atlas Lions of Morocco Walid Regragui has said he will quit his position if the team don't make the semi-final of the competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Following their impressive performance at the last World Cup in Qatar, Morocco is considered a top favourite for the next AFCON slated to be held in Ivory Coast.

The former African champion reached the semi-final of the World Cup in Qatar beating Spain and Portugal along the road.

"We must be at least in the semi-finals of the CAN (Cup of Nations). If I do not go to the semi-finals, I will leave on my own," he told the Moroccan media.

The draw for the biennial tournament is scheduled to be held on Thursday 12th of October, 2023.

Morocco last won the competition when they hosted the tournament in 1988.
