The accidental head collision with Skriniar, left him having 18 screws in his jaws and six plaques to keep the various pieces of bone in place.
"The injury I had against Inter was like a near-death experience. I'm the only one who heard it and I can only talk about how I felt because it was my face and my body.
"But having managed to stand up without using the stretcher, walking out of the field alone, I realized that it was something I could handle.
"When I got to the hospital, I told my doctor that I would be out for a maximum of two weeks.
"The x-rays revealed that I had multiple bone fractures which they had to remove and repair inside again.
"I have something like 18 screws under my jaw. I've been through a lot: for so many nights I couldn't sleep, because of the pain and it was impossible for me to even eat.
"But in the end I'm a lion and I know the kind of mindset I have. In my mind, I had already planned my return after the surgery."
Despite staying out of action and missing out in the AFCON in Cameroon for the Super Eagles, Osimhen who wears a protective mask while playing, ended the season scoring 14 Serie A goals and winning the Italian Serie A Most Valuable Player (MVP) for U-23 footballers.
