I'm Still Super Eagle Assistant Coach - Finidi

Enyimba International head coach Finidi George has insisted that he is still the assistant coach of Nigeria's Super Eagle, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Finidi and goalkeeper trainer Ike Shorunmi were dropped from the team during the 4th round of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Their ouster from the team then caused an uproar from the fans across the country until the Nigeria Football Federation cleared the air on the matter.

Super Eagle will resume camp next week ahead of the clash against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone and Finidi is expected to be back in the team.

The ex-Eagles winger said on a radio program Football Salsa, that he is still part of the team.

"I'm still the first assistant to Jose Peseiro and will be there next week when the camp opens for the players to come.

I think I will be there if things don't get twisted.

But let me finish this duty with Enyimba and if things go well I will be in camp", he said.
