 Nigeria U18 Handball team on Friday night annihilated Taihti 61-21 in their third group match to overtake Georgia on the log, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The team had on early hours of Friday confronted Guadalupe in the IHF intercontinental trophy currently going on in Costa Rica and rallied back to secure a valuable draw.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian side in its first game comfortably defeated Nicaragua.

The national under-18 male handball team started the last match with so much energy to embarrass Tahiti with the hope of catching up with the group leader, Georgia.

But then Nigeria came back smoking in the competition after some tactical switch by Coach Emeka Nnamani as Azeez Olaitan Suliamon became a vital player in the second consecutive games.

With the win, Team Nigeria are on top of the log with 5 points. Georgia with 4 with a game in hand and Guadeloupe with three points. Both sides will face each other in the last match.
