IMC Boss, Elegbeleye Bags Distinguished Sports Administrator of The Year Award

Following his unmatched administrative qualities and work ethics that earned the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) a title sponsor in just few weeks, Chairman, Interim Management Committee (IMC), Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye, has been named Distinguished Sports Administrator of The Year, BSNSports.com.ng reports .

Elegbeleye, after due research by team of distinguished researchers, the African Illustrious Awards recognised his outstanding and exceptional quality in sports administration.

In a statement released on his behalf by Dr. Harris Madueke, the African Illustrious Awards was described as a revered and prestigious African honour, conferred on individuals and organisations who have excelled in leadership, philanthropy, community development, academia in Africa amongst others.

The statement added, "The African Illustrious Awards seek to search, discover and recognise highly distinguished Africans who have been outstanding, and exceptional in private and public service. This recognition is in line with our vision to project and promote excellence in Africa, not as an exception, but as a consistent pattern in the modern African experience.

"Pursuant to the above, our team of seasoned professionals, distinguished researchers, a special panel, and the public, after due diligence has found the Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye worthy to receive the prestigious award as the Distinguished Sports Administrator of The Year. Madueke said. 

Before this, the former Director General of National Sports Commission has received many awards in the past for his excellent performance as sports administrator.

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare will also be awarded with Minister of The Year Award by African Illustrious Awards. 

The award will be formally presented to Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye at the Oriental Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos of Friday, 9th December, 2022
