Nigeria's rising table tennis star Umar Ayoola has been named the Most Improved Player following an outstanding run of performances on the international stage, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ayoola capped his impressive campaign with a runner-up finish in the Boys' Under-15 Singles event in Accra, further underlining his rapid development as one of Nigeria's brightest young talents.

The youngster first announced himself at the ITTF Hopes Week 2025, where he showcased his potential against some of the world's top emerging players.

 He continued his steady rise with an eye-catching performance at the WTT Contender Lagos 2026, earning praise for his composure and technical ability.

His consistent progress was rewarded in Accra, where he not only reached the final of the U-15 Boys' Singles event but was also honoured with the Most Improved Player award.

The recognition highlights Ayoola's remarkable growth over the past year and reinforces expectations that he could become one of Nigeria's leading table tennis stars in the years ahead.
