Sampson Adedeji

Following his ouster from the ongoing ITTF Singapore Smash, Nigeria table tennis star Aruna Quadri has thanked Nigerians, especially the media for their support, BSNSports.com.ng report.

The good run of Aruna ended in the quarter-final after suffering a 4-0 defeat to the World No.5 Hugo Calderano.

The African No.1 produced an impressive performance in the qualifying round beating Filus, Lebrun and Tomokazu Harimoto.

While reacting to his ouster from the Smash, Aruna admitted that his performance against the Brazilian was not too good but hopes to have a better outing next time.

" I was not happy with my display in the quarter-final but I am happy that I once again showed what I can do on a bigger stage.

I looked ahead to more tournaments hoping to do well.

I thanked Nigerians, Africans and my fans worldwide for their outpouring of support.

The Nigeria media has been my strong supporter and I must thank them for putting it out there.

I will not stop working hard and giving my best at all times", he said.
