Igbinovia, Oyinlomo Are Men's, Women's Champions of 2nd DavNotch Tennis Open

Wilson Igbinovia on Saturday defeated Peter Lawal 2-1 (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) to emerge champion of 2022 DavNotch Tennis Open at the Tennis Court at Packge B, Moshood Abiola Stadium.


In the women's final, Oyinlomo Quadre beat Aiyegbusi Aanu to emerge champion of the 2022 DavNotch Tennis Open.

 Babalola Abdulmumin and Shehu Lawal thrashed Atseye Henry and Nonso Madueke in the Men's Doubles final while Edwards Marylove and Oyinlomo Quadre were women's Doubles champions after defeating Aiyegbusi Aanu and Asogba Toyin. 


Omisore Kafayat emerged winner in the WheelChair Women's Singles after beating Shodeinde Foluke in Saturday's final while Adewale Alex beat Wasiu Yusuf in WheelChair men's Singles final.


Speaking during the award/closing ceremony, the President of Nigeria Tennis Federation, Dayo Akindoju thanked the sponsor, DavNotch Ltd and urged them to continue to support the game as the Federation looks forward to the 3rd edition in 2023. 


"I want to appreciate the sponsor, DavNotch Ltd for their support and would be looking forward to a better coordinated Championship next year. DavNotch has promised that they will sponsor the  tournament for five years.


Also speaking, Men's Champion, Wilson Igbinovia, said he was elated and surprised to emerge champion. He described the final as the toughest and believe that he use that as opportunity to continue winning men's senior tourney in Nigeria.
