Ighalo Ends Goal Drought, But Al Wehda Fall To Al Qadsiah

Odion Ighalo found the back of the net for the first time in two months, but his effort wasn't enough to rescue Al Wehda from a 3-1 defeat to Al Qadsiah in Thursday's Saudi Professional League clash, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian striker last scored on March 6 in a 3-1 victory over Al Raed, and had since endured a seven-game goalless run before breaking the drought against Al Qadsiah.

Ighalo opened the scoring in the 29th minute, but the hosts responded swiftly, with Puertas Castro equalizing in the 43rd minute. Castro struck again in the 84th minute to give Al Qadsiah the lead, before former Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal in the 97th minute.

The goal marked Ighalo’s sixth in 30 league appearances this season—a significant dip compared to his debut campaign tally of 15 goals in 31 matches.

The loss leaves Al Wehda languishing in 15th place with 32 points, just two points above the relegation zone in the 18-team table.
