Ighalo guides Al Hilal to a 1-0 victory to move to the top of AFC Champions League table

Super Eagles of Nigeria star Odion Jude Ighalo was fantastic for Al Hilal football club of Saudi Arabia on Friday night, and he was able to play a vital role in their remarkable 1-0 victory over Istiqlol Duchanbe FC in the Asia AFC Champions League, BSNSports com.ng reports.


The former Manchester United football club of England star returned to action for Al Hilal football club after missing their last two matches due to the minor injury he sustained few weeks ago, and he was able to impress in the game.


The 33 years old started in his team's attack alongside Brazilian star Matheus Pereira and Salem Al Dawsari and the trio were exceptional in the game.


Both teams tried so hard to break the deadlock in the first half of the game, but all their efforts were not successful, as the first half ended goalless.


Saudi Arabia national team midfielder Salman Al Faraj opened scoring for the home team in the 52nd minutes through a fine teamwork from Nigerian Ighalo and Yasser Al Shahrani to end the match 2-1.


Odion Ighalo was superb in the home team's attack in the entertaining encounter, and he was able to guide them to a well deserved victory.


The 1-0 victory over Istiqlol Duchanbe FC has now taken Al Hilal football club to the top spot of the Asia AFC Champions League table with 9 points from 3 matches played.
