Also inaugurated was the Electoral Appeals Committee, which comprised Barr. Chinwe Mbakwem, Mrs Aritola Chizotam, and Emmanuel Metu.

Imo FA stated this on Monday in a release signed by the Media Officer Angela in Owerri, the state capital.

The release said the committee was announced at the last Ordinary General Assembly of the FA.

Others are Julie Anyanwu, George Obidiegwu, Anumaka Kuke, and Charles Anyamele.

Chairman of the Imo FA, Mazi Amanze Uchegbulam charged the two committees to deploy their commitment and professionalism to the task, noting that it must be devoid of rancour.

Uchegbulam said, “Imo FA has always operated in love and brotherhood; this reflects in respect for different opinions and regular meetings. Your committee must uphold the principle of a level playing ground for all the aspirants.

“These committees hold the powers to uphold or cause disunity within the association hence it is important you operate above board.

“I appeal that you provide a level playing ground to avoid incurring crisis for our beautiful Imo Football Association.”

Responding, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Prof Ken Anugweje expressed gratitude for the implicit trust reposed in them and assured that they will not abuse it.

Anugweje said, “On behalf of other committee members, we thank this august body for the implicit confidence in us and we assure you that we will discharge our responsibility without fear or favour. We will operate above board.”
