India 2022: Egypt Women's U17 Team Arrive In Nigeria
By Admin
Egypt’s U17 girls have arrived in Abuja for the first leg of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup third round match against Nigeria’s Flamingos on Sunday.
Both teams were unsuccessful in their bids for the flagship FIFA World Cup later this year, but they are attempting to make amends by purchasing tickets for the U17 Women’s World Cup, which will also be held in India this year.
The Flamingos, who beat their DRC counterparts 8-0 on aggregate (3-0 in Kinshasa and 5-0 in Benin City) last month, will advance to the last round of the qualifiers if they beat their Egyptian opponents.
On Sunday, April 17th, both teams will face off at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, with the reverse leg taking place in Cairo on Friday, April 30th.
The aggregate winner will face the winner of the match between Ethiopia and South Africa for a spot in this year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in India from October 11th to October 30th.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football has dispatched a team of Ivorian match officials to Nigeria for Sunday’s match, led by Natacha Gérardine Konan (Referee).
Lou Djenan Danielle Ta (assistant referee 1), Ndeko Edwige Appia (assistant referee 2), and Zomadre Sonia Kore (assistant referee 3) are the others (fourth official).
