India Challenges Nigeria For 2030 Commonwealth Games Hosting Rights

India has emerged as Nigeria’s main competitor in the race to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) recently confirmed that it met the March 28, 2025 deadline to submit its expression of interest to host the Games.

Meanwhile, India has officially entered the race, submitting a bid to host the event in Ahmedabad—a strategic move aligned with its ambition to bring the 2036 Olympic Games to the same city.

Nigeria previously lost out in its attempt to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which were eventually awarded to Glasgow, Scotland.
