Rosengard midfielder, Halimatu Ayinde said she is disappointed to miss this month’s Paris 2024 Olympics with the Super Falcons due to injury, BSNSports.com.ng reports

The three-time WAFCON winner suffered a knee injury ahead of arrival in camp for players as her club confirmed that she won’t be joining the national team.

The Kaduna-born star recently returned from injury setbacks after the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and will now be out for another injury spell on the sideline.

"With a heavy heart, I announce I won't be part of the Super Falcons for the Olympics. I’m deeply grateful to FC Rosengård and my teammates for their support and love. Best of luck to my fellow Super Falcons. I’ll be cheering for you and will return stronger. Go Super Falcons."

Randy Waldrum is expected to replace Ayinde with one of the alternative players in the squad.

They are Jumoke Alani (Nasarawa Amazons); Ifeoma Onumonu (Utah Royals, USA); Gift Monday (Costa Adeje Tenerife Egatesa, Spain); and Morufa Ademola (Rivers Angels).
