Injury Stops Sadiq Umar From Valencia's UK Tour
Ibrahim Lateef
Super Eagles forward Umar Sadiq has suffered a hamstring injury, thus missing out on Valencia's pre-season tour of England, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
As reported by Deportes Cope Valencia, Umar Sadiq was not part of the squad that travelled, as he stayed in Valencia to treat the hamstring injury he suffered in the friendly match against Castellón.
The Nigerian striker did not train with the group on Monday, and everything points to him possibly having a minor muscle tear, which will keep him away from the first team for at least a week, although the club has yet to release any medical report.
Valencia played its fourth preseason friendly on Tuesday against Derby County FC at St. George's Park in Birmingham, behind closed doors.
The friendly was considered by the club to be a training match, similar to the one played against Petro de Luanda in Girona.
In the United Kingdom, they will also face Stoke City on Saturday, August 1st at the Bet 365 Stadium in Stoke-on-Trent, the day their training camp in England will end.
