Injury Update: Awoniyi Fully Recovered But Ruled Out Of Chelsea Clash – Forest Boss

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi has fully recovered from the abdominal surgery he underwent following an injury sustained against Leicester City, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Speaking ahead of Forest’s final Premier League match of the season against Chelsea, Nuno stated that while Awoniyi is making significant progress in his recovery, he will not feature in the game.

“He’s doing much better. He’s already able to walk and has resumed a normal routine, including eating,” Nuno said.

“The doctors have given positive updates, but he won’t be available for the match. It was a serious issue and remains on our minds.”

The Portuguese coach added, “This game is for Taiwo, for the fans, for the city – for everyone. We just want him to be fully healthy again.”
