Injury Update: Hull City Boss Unsure Of Semi Ajayi’s Return Date

Hull City manager Sergej Jakirovic says he cannot confirm when Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi will return from injury, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ajayi picked up a hamstring injury in training shortly after impressing in Hull’s opening-day draw with Coventry City and has since missed the club’s last five matches.

The 30-year-old centre-back was also absent from Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.

Ahead of Hull’s upcoming Championship clash with Watford, Jakirovic admitted the club is treading cautiously with the former Arsenal man.

“I don’t know, maybe 70–80 per cent [chance],” Jakirovic told the Yorkshire Post.

“Our doctors are very careful. They don’t want to push anybody. If you ask me, they’ll be ready, but I’m fighting all the time with them.”

Ajayi joined Hull City on a free transfer this summer after spending six years at West Bromwich Albion.
